    Notice of AGM

    Dear County Member

    The Avon County and BaD Squash AGM will take place on Wednesday, 19th of June 2024 at BAWA, Pavilion, 589 Southmead Road, Filton, Bristol, BS34 7RF

    We will be using a new format for the AGM.  In previous years we have presented a full slide deck during the AGM.  This year we will publish the full deck ahead of time and will work through a cut down version of the AGM which will largely consist of the following:

    1. Key votes
    2. Brief discussion on tabled topics for discussion (each topic will be timeboxed)
    3. Awards ceremony

    Draft timetable for the evening

    6pm - BaD Premier League Shootout featuring 1 player from each Prem A team from both halves. Format is two round robin groups with winners playing off for the trophy. All matches are 1 game to 11 (sudden death at 10 all).

    7:30pm - AGM

    9pm - Free drink (one) and food, socialise and celebrate

    We will publish the Agenda no later than Wednesday, 5th of June 2024.

    Items of any other business must reach the Chairman in writing no later than midnight Wednesday, 29th of May 2024.

    Any proposed rule changes or other changes regarding the league must reach the League Secretary and Ladies League Secretary in writing no later than midnight Wednesday,29th of May 2024.  Please document your case clearly showing how it would work, why the change is needed etc.  Please note any proposed changes may result in working parties being created to work through before they are ultimately put to a vote.

    All nominations for election of Officers shall be made in writing no later than Wednesday,5th of June 2024 and sent to the Trustees.  At the discretion of the Trustees, nominations may be accepted at the AGM. 

    Avon Squash & Racketball Association has 3 Trustees. One third of the Trustees must 'retire' every year.  Those individuals may offer themselves up for reelection.   The minimum number of Trustees permitted is 6 and the maximum number is 10.

    Current elected trustees are:

    Richard Bickers (Redland Green)

    John Welton (Workout)

    Sandie Doran-Hole (Redland Green)

    Jeremy Goulding (Lansdown)

    This year Richard Bickers and Jeremy Goulding is 'retiring' and both are willing to stand for reelection.

     

    Current elected officers of the Committee are:

    Secretary: Vacant

    Treasurer: Duncan Higgins  (Workout Harbourside)

    Mixed League Secretary: Richard Bickers (Redland Green)

    Ladies League Secretary: Sandie Doran (Redland Green)

    Nominations for all of the above roles are welcome but must be received no later than 5th June 2024
