Skills Gap on the Avon County Committee

    Dear County Member

Since I took as Chairman over we have been looking at the structure of the Committee and the skills available to run the County.

Currently we have fairly equal representation from just two clubs.  Clearly this is not healthy for both the governance and development of the County.

    Your committee should include:

    • Secretary (vacant)
    • Treasurer (filled)
    • League Secretary(ies) (filled)
    • Plus other general members to a maximum of 12

Currently we have a Chairman, Treasurer and League Secretary.  We also have two general members performing specific duties. The role of Secretary remains unfilled.

We have identified further roles that we feel, being filled, would drastically enhance our ability to govern and develop the County.

As the development plan evolves we may add new ones or make changes to those that have been identified.  To date we have identified the following (in addition to those that already exist):

    1. County Safeguarding Officer (vacant)
    2. Events Coordinator (vacant)
    3. Head of Marketing (vacant)
    4. Head of Publicity (recently filled)
    5. Head of Refereeing (vacant)
    6. Head of Sponsorship and Fundraising (vacant)

Over the next week or so will be publishing the details of and inviting applications for these roles.  Even if you are not personally interested or available please do take the time to read the description of each role and spread the word within in your clubs.

We would love to see representation from all parts of the county and the different types of clubs we have, from members clubs to those within leisure centres.
