    Mixed Spring dates and plan

Thanks to all those teams who replied to my earlier question, I have a good idea on how to arrange the fixtures for the mixed spring league.

Fixtures will start on the 14th of January and run through until the 1st of April. Easter is early next year - it's even earlier the year after... This will give us the best chance of fitting all the matches in on a Weds.

I'll take account of what I've heard so some teams will start a little later and some may be able to skip half term, otherwise I'll make use of every Weds I can.

If I can't make the Weds, I'll go for the preference of the home team - Tuesday or Thursday - but with a bit of luck that shouldn't happen as much as this time.

One other thing I plan to do is randomise who gets the Weds slot. Currently, the system starts at the top and works its way down so that means that all the top guys get their Wednesdays and those in the lower divisions end up playing most of their games on a Tuesday or Thursday. With randomisation I hope to spread the grief around more fairly - we all prefer to play on a Weds. That's squash day!

The one exception to the above is Prem A who have other matches to play so they need the Weds slot.

I'll do my best to keep teams from the same club apart. That's all very manual but I'll do what I can for those a/b/c divisions. I'm also aware of travel distances so take that into account if there's flexibilty. I can't promise anything though.

I've had requests for new teams to join so that's all good. They'll be joining in division 4 so no-one need fear being relegated unexpectedly.

There's still one match to be played next week which gives everyone else a week to get all their results in, take their penalties on the chin and generally know where they stand. Once the final result is in I'll try to publish the 'who goes up, who goes down list' reasonably quickly so everyone knows which division they'll be in next half before Christmas.

I think that's it for now. Any queries please let me know - [email protected].

    Cheers,

      Richard.
