    AGM 2012 Notes

Bristol and District Squash AGM 2012 Notes

There are a number of points to note and additional information for the forthcoming AGM, these are as follows

    1. There is a considerable amount of business to get through on the night so please be mindful of this when discussing agenda items, otherwise it could be a midnight finish.

    1. Due to the lengthy 6 page 2011 minutes there will only be a limited number available on the night so if you print off your own copy please bring it along.

    1. Whilst there will be prizes for league winners etc they will not be presented on the night as the committee has yet to decide on suitable prizes.  Members will be asked for suggestions for suitable prizes, last year the expenditure got out of hand and as there needs to be a limit on prize funds and the committee are not aware what is desirable/valued in terms of prizes it will be down to the players to make suggestions.

    1. There is an agenda proposal to merge Avon SRA with BaD Squash, this has been quite emotive in the past and potentially needs a fairly long debate, there will not be a lot of time at the AGM so I have asked Nick Drysdale who will be giving a short presentation to produce some detailed information prior to the AGM for publication on the website.

    1. There are some shirts and mugs left over from previous years and these will be available to purchase at the AGM.

    1. Last year not all clubs that attended the AGM were issued with balls as there were League Fees outstanding, we are now told all clubs are up to date with fees and therefore the outstanding balls will be issued at the AGM or arrangements made to issue them.  For this years AGM balls will be issued again to Winter Mixed League  clubs attending, however we intend to issue the remaining balls that we have then purchase the exact amount and issue them subsequent to the AGM. Please note balls will only be issued to Ladies Winter League teams if they are represented at the AGM

    1. There is an agenda proposal to alter the voting at the AGM, currently it is one vote for member clubs, the proposal is for one vote per team for member clubs.  If carried the proposal would be valid post this years AGM.  If intending to vote on proposals for your club this year it is important that you discuss with your members and not vote purely on your personal preferences.

    1. Secretary position – my circumstances have changed recently and I will be standing down at the AGM, therefore we need to find a new secretary for the forthcoming year.

    Regards
