Login: | BAD Squash Doubles Tournament ReportBRISTOL AND DISTRICT DOUBLES TOURNAMENT – DAVID LLOYD 17 – 19TH SEPTEMBER
This tournament was held at the David Lloyd Club at Long Ashton, supported by Bristol and District Squash. We were very grateful to the club for letting us have the use of all 3 courts for the weekend – and for free! Also to David Jenkins for organising the draw for us so well.
We had a record number of entries this year – 24 pairs in the Men’s event, 13 in the Mixed and 6 in the Ladies.
Fortunately everyone who entered was able to come and pretty much everyone made it on time so things seemed to progress pretty smoothly….
After many hard games, some really super squash and a really enjoyable weekend all round the results were as follows:
Mens Main Final:-
Chris Clare and Ian Fudge beat
Dan West and Ian Fenner- Evans 3-0 in an awesome final
In the Ladies Clare Kedward and Alice Clark, from Redland beat Natalie Lawrence and Maxine Hobbs 3-1
A real humdinger in the Mixed Final saw Alan and Sarah Brown beat Rob Watkins and Natalie Lawrence 3-1
The Mens Plate Final involved Roger Camp and Mark Regan, Redland
who beat Alan Brown and Andy Ewings 3-1
The Mixed Plate Final was won by Jan Ellis and son Sam (unfortunately no pic as they had to dash off to some party!!) who beat Erica Howcroft and John Sulzman from Redland 3-0
(Picture actually of Erica and Steve Powell, David Lloyd who acted as Master of Ceremonies for the presentation)
Well Done to all those who participated in such a fun but competitive tournament. Look forward to seeing you all next year.
