    Doubles League

    Congradulations to Westbury David Lloyd for winning Div 1 - Weston Div 2 and Nailsea in Div3 - Thanks for everyone who played

    Doubles Competition

    The Doubles Competition was held at Redlands on the 9th-11th Oct. The weekend saw 35 pairs playing in three categories, the men's was won again by Dan West and Ian Fenner-Evans who beat Chris Clare and Martin Rich. The mixed also had defending champions take the title again - Keith Sanzo and Emma Chorley beat Rob Watkins and Natalie Lawrence. The ladies played a round robin and the clear winners were Emma Chorley and Sarah Brown. David Jenkins was tournament organsier who done a great job.  

    Winter League

    We are a few weeks into the league and there have been many great games and most games have been played. There are some clubs that have Tuesday and Thursday fixtures - this is because clubs cannot have too many home teams in one night - Sorry to Hewlett Packard who have found it very difficult to raise a team. There have been some nasty players out there so far - the three who have not given a point in one of their matches are - Steve Osbourne / Seamus Synge and John Hulcoop - 27 love club?

    National and International Events

    Not a great British Open for our local men - Barney Elworthy lost to Hadrian 3/0 - Hadrian Lost to Simon Parke 3/0 in the final of the over 35's. Jeremy Goulding lost to Ian Bradburn 3/1 in Quarter finals of over 50's. These two players also played the East of England Masters at Bury St Edmunds - Elworthy lost in Semi's in Over 35, and Goulding lost in final of over 50's. 

    Emma Chorley played the Womens World open in Amsterdamn last month - lost in qualifers event in five - Nicol David went on to win again. Last weekend saw the West of England Masters event in Swindon. Barney Elworthy lost in semi's to Clive Ewings who won over 35's. Rob Watkins lost in the final of over 40's beating the no 1 seed in semi's. Jeremy Goulding lost in Quarters in over 50's - other local players Paul Walton, Kirk Woodward and Paul Clark. Next Masters event is Coventry on 4th-6th Dec - please visit www.englandsquashmasters.co.uk for more info. Present rankings Over 35 - Barney is Fifth. Over 40's Rob is 10th and Jeremy is 2nd in Over 50's - all three looking good for the last four tournaments.

    Junior News

    Last Month saw 60 Juniors enter the Redlands Open - Please visit www.avonsquash.co.uk for all results.

    Avon County Squash

    The ladies over 40 had a very difficult weekend and came bottom in the Premier A Division - The team was Rosie Bellinger, Jan Ellis, Pippa Green and Indira Barker - Surrey and Kent had very strong teams. This weekend coming sees Avon Over 35 go to Gloucester. More info can be found at both web sites above..

    Bristol ahd a great start to the season with a win over Guildford 3/2 - results were
